Cris Buchner Stone

Cornerstone Pilates Owner & Senior Instructor
Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT)
Gyrotonic® Trainer, Advanced Rossiter Coach

Cris is a licensed Gyrotonic® Method Trainer, Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (PMA), and a Level 4 Rossiter Coach. She is skilled at creating customized programs for clients with Osteoporosis, Scoliosis, back pain, injuries, pre-natal and post-partum, athletes, equestrians, and everyday movers of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels.  She makes it a point to stay up-to-date on the latest research on anatomy and movement and apply it to her ever-evolving practice.

Cris was a dancer as a child at the Dallas Ballet and received her degree in Theatre Arts from the University of North Texas in 2000.  She pursued a career in theatre in New York City from 2001-2010.  It was there that she found and fell in love with Pilates and the GYROTONIC® method .  She studied with several advanced practitioners in New York City for many years before completing her comprehensive Pilates training with the renowned Kelly Kane at the Kane School of Core Integration in 2010.  She moved to Dallas and began teaching Pilates. Her quest for more knowledge led her to  spend 2014-2016 taking an intensive bridge course with Karin Locher of the Centre for Spatial Medicine – relearning the entire Pilates repertoire through the lens of the fascial meridians in the body.  She has studied the Anatomy Trains extensively and this knowledge of the fascial system informs all of her work. She has taken numerous advanced Pilates courses in Osteoporosis, prenatal and post-partum, spinal pathologies, scoliosis, Franklin Method, Smartspine, and the Anatomy Trains.

Cris’s continued exploration into the world of fascia and movement led her to the Gyrotonic Expansion System®. She found that the system inherently opens up the fascial lines and creates space and freedom in the body.  She completed her GYROTONIC® Method Level 1 training with Master Trainer Kandace Lopez in 2018, and her Level 1 Final Certification with Master Trainer Lisa Marie Goodwin in 2019. She is currently continuing to experience the beauty and depth of the Gyrotonic Expansion System® and loves to share it with her clients.  She finds that working with the GYROTONIC® method opens up a freedom and ease of movement that many of us are craving in our daily lives.

In 2018 Cris began training in the Rossiter System in order to help her clients release stored pain and trauma in their bodies.  She is currently a Level 4 Advanced Rossiter Coach, and continues to expand her training in this very helpful technique.  She is always broadening her knowledge in order to create a fully beneficial experience for her clients.
