Michelle LeBlanc Sedtal has been taking Pilates since 2007 and teaching since 2016.  She is a comprehensively trained Pilates instructor through Polestar Pilates, a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT), a Fascial Stretch Therapist, and a Gyrotonic Instructor.  She is a mentor for Polestar Pilates Teacher Training and oversees Cornerstone Pilates’ Apprentice Program for students in the Polestar Teacher Training Program.  She co-founded Cornerstone Pilates along with Cris Stone to be a studio with integrity, highly skilled teachers, and an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

Tired of experiencing severe pain in her knee after having it scoped in 2007, unable to easily walk up one step and overwhelmed at the thought of climbing a flight of stairs, she inquired if Pilates could help with her knee pain. Soon Michelle started working with a certified instructor once a week. Not only did her knee pain subside, but she also gained strength throughout her body. In 2015, taking a leap of faith she signed up for the Polestar certification courses. It was a big leap for someone having no athletic ability that did not extend past her high school and college marching band.

Because she’s never been an athlete and has dealt with severe pain, she understands how hard it is for someone, who is deconditioned to overcome physical challenges and become stronger in their everyday lives. She uses this experience to create customized sessions that help people with severe limitations to feel and move better than they thought possible. Michelle also utilizes the OOV (a dynamic tool for strength and balance) , SmartSpine (to apply heat and assisted stretch), and Bodhi Suspension System (Resistance Training) in her Movement Integration sessions. Clients often tell her they feel taller, breathe better, and have gained a better sense of self.

Throughout her time as a Pilates Teacher, Michelle has always been on a quest to learn more.  In 2016, she became a Fascial Stretch Therapist at the Stretch To Win Institute in Phoenix Arizona.  This assisted stretching modality is wonderful for increasing flexibility and reducing pain and the chance of injury.  In 2020 and 21, she also fell in love with Gyrotonic, another movement modality that provided much-needed stretch, movement, breathing and stress-relief during the Covid years. She trained to teach Gyrotonic in 2023 and loves to share it with her clients now.

She has served as a volunteer at City House, Inc., a local non-profit organization that serves abused and neglected children. She serves on the board of the Aging Mind Foundation, raising money to further the research in Alzheimer’s and dementia. She recently joined the board of Dare to Grow Texas. She also enjoys helping young women achieve their life’s dreams of attaining a college education by serving as the Director of IT for EWL’s Board of Directors.

Michelle and her husband, Mike, live in Richardson and have been happily married for over 38 years. Michelle is the proud mother of two children and grandmother of five. She has many interests and talents including gardening, knitting, painting, gluten-free cooking, and spending quality time with friends over wine. A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Michelle was raised in Beaumont, Texas.
