We start with an 80-minute BODY Aptitude Assessment to learn the state of your body and the work it needs. Longer than the usual session, we will explore and experiment to reveal your strengths and uncover your weaknesses, crafting a strategy to use our various services to address your uniquely defined goals.
Following your BODY Aptitude Assessment, we will curate a tailored plan for your training. You’ll have options to move in a focused one-on-one setting, get inspired in group classes and work out your tight spots with our assisted stretching options. Usually a combination is best, and we know your body will change, so our methods are designed to mix and match according to what you need.
Yes! You could say injuries are our specialty. Our instructors are skilled at modifying the work to meet you where you are. Unless you are currently under a doctor’s care for an acute injury or have very recently had surgery, we can modify our programs to fit your needs.
Our goal is to get you moving efficiently and intelligently. In one-on-one sessions, we will execute a tailored plan for your training, starting wherever you are and mixing in methods as appropriate to challenge, strengthen, and balance your body. Once you can move with ease and pain-free, you can mix it up with group classes, but we recommend starting with these focused sessions with our exceptional instructors. In fact, one private session a week is an investment in your health long-term that will ensure that the daily stressors don’t cause lingering issues as you age gracefully. We have clients who have made this investment in themselves for 10 years or more and it makes ALL the difference in how you age with confidence and grace.
With our all-star staff, you can’t go wrong. Our expert and senior instructors have varied levels of experience, different backgrounds and training, but they all have one thing in common: a passion for movement, an extensive knowledge of anatomy and a desire to help you learn about your body so you can move wisely and feel brilliantly.
Absolutely. With many different types of classes to choose from, the BODY APTITUDE ASSESSMENT session will allow us to create a plan for you to achieve your health goals. Trust us – it’ll do your body good.
We have one private restroom for clients. You may change in there, just plan to come early as there is only one restroom for the studio.
No. And you won’t need them. Most clients do not sweat much during our sessions. You will feel the burn, but our work is more focused on slow, steady, deep transformational work than on getting the heart rate up.
5 – 10 Minutes. All sessions begin and end promptly. If you arrive late, you will miss out on valuable time with your instructor.
Comfortable clothing that you can move in, workout and loungewear are both appropriate. We require that clients wear grip socks in the studio – Toesox or other socks with non-slip grips on the bottom. Grip socks may be purchased in the studio if needed. No shoes allowed.
Nothing! We have bins to place belongings, shoes and coats in, but not lockers. Please leave valuables in your car. A water bottle is allowed in class.
There is a 24 hour cancellation policy for all services. If you must cancel with less than 24 hours notice, your session will be charged at full price. There is an exception to this policy for Covid-19 symptoms. If you have any possible symptoms of Covid-19, you will not be charged for cancellation. Please give as much notice as possible.
At Cornerstone Pilates we are committed to doing everything we can to provide a safe and sanitary environment for our community.
We serve a wide range of clients, many of whom are over 65 or have varying health complications but have found Pilates as a way to enhance their quality of life. The movement work we do is very important for overall health, immune function, stress release, and vitality. Our studio acknowledges the need to be extra vigilant at this time and will be strictly adhering to the following protocols to help reduce the risk of spreading pathogens while continuing to offer the health benefits of Pilates.
- Equipment has been spaced more than 6 feet apart.
- Sessions will be strictly 50 or 80 minutes to allow time to sanitize in between and for one client to leave the room before the next enters.
- Each room at our studio has a high-powered air filter running all day.
- We use a professional-grade sanitizer on all equipment between each session.
- We are practicing social distancing as much as possible. We will teach from more than 6 feet away as much as possible.
- Teachers wear masks while teaching high-risk clients or classes.
- We wash and sanitize our hands frequently.
- We will cancel classes if we or anyone in our household is feeling unwell or if anyone who has been in the studio becomes sick.
We ask our community to adhere to the following recommendations in order to help protect the most vulnerable among us.
- We ask all clients to wait in the lobby until their class time and to leave the classroom immediately after to help us minimize contact as much as possible.
- We recommend wearing masks when entering and leaving the studio and in the lobby.
- Due to our focus on breath work, we are fine with clients removing masks once they are on the equipment if they choose.
- We are reminding clients to be mindful of social distancing when other clients are in the studio.
- We are all washing hands thoroughly before and after each session, and clients are welcome to bring and wear gloves during sessions.
- There will be no charge for cancellation for sickness. We ask that clients cancel at the first sign of sickness or after exposure to anyone sick.
- We ask clients to check their phones before coming to class in case we have to make last-minute cancellations due to illness.
We offer online classes and private sessions for those who prefer to continue their practice from home. Ask us for details.
